The Camelid Collection System TM is intended to enhance projects and be a valuable resource for fiber exchange, enabling fiber artists, manufacturers and everyone inbetween to locate and purchase fiber. Presently the System is open to all Camelids. If this pilot project works well and is supported, we will open to other natural fibers! So come on and get your fiber listed!

All Buyers may use this system, CIABA members only may list your fleece.

Welcome to our virtual collection, the CIABA Camelid Fiber Collection System TM.

As the natural fiber industry evolves, there will be more opportunities for producers to bring their fiber into production. A farm may choose to sell its fiber directly to a specific projects such as Mini Mills, AFCNA, NEAFP, NAAFP, etc. These are all viable businesses that will bring your farm some revenue for your fiber and if they work for you, by all means use them!

CIABA has developed a system that will put buyers directly in touch with you, the producer.

Fiber listed "virtually" on line as inventory is stored on your farm. This eliminates the cost of off site storage and the need for a volunteer or paid worker to run a facility. By recording the sort method used, fiber can be chosen for purchase based on the method of sorting.  This is important information to some purchasers.

Certain applications and manufactures have specific criteria that must be followed.  Grades and lengths of fiber can make the difference between a successful product run and disaster.  There are times when projects are stalled because there is not enough sorted/graded fiber to finish a run. We hope that by having fiber listed, all available fiber will become a precious commodity.  Manufacturers will be able to fill their fiber needs.  Best of all, you, the producer, will be paid the profits that are due to you directly

This system is in no way intended to "compete" with any other program but is being put into place to help the producer and manufacturer. Most importantly, there will be no third party cost to either the producer or manufacturer.
